Skull Rock and Saucer

I have felt drawn for many years to include UFOs in some of my landscape graphics. I've wondered sometimes whether I'm being propelled by the same impulse that grabbed the guy in "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," who can't stop sculpting the Devil's Tower in mashed potatoes.

I try to go to Joshua Tree National Park in California whenever I am passing through because of the beautifully erosion-sculpted rock outcroppings. Skull Rock is perhaps one of the best known and certainly among the most photgraphed of these forms.
